Baptism

Many of you know I have been battling cancer for the last two years.
Having cancer is not easy. It’s hard for me, it's even harder for my family.
But the flip side of having the disease is now I have a lot of time to read the Scriptures.
Earlier this year, On Saturday, April 22, when I was struggling with pain and anxiety, I opened up the Bible and started to read the book of Romans, Chapter 5.
“Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.”
This passage really calmed me down and I was thinking, “Maybe God is speaking to me, through Apostle Paul”.
The next day Sunday when I came to Bethany, I was surprised to hear that pastor Doug Kelly was preaching Romans 5. When he was reading out the the same passage and talking about that “hope does not disappoint us”, I was so amazed - “Wow, God is really speaking to me, this time through Pastor Kelly”. I was filled with hope.
So that’s how I found hope at the church, at the House of God. There is no better place to start with hope.
