Dear Edmund and Sebastian,

I was fortunate to have met with your dad Sen twice over the years. Information and suggestions provided by your mother made it possible for me to complete my own version of 'I Remember.' I must thank her for giving me this opportunity.

I learned that your father had graduated from Tsing-hua University in Beijing with a engineering degree. TH U. is widely regarded as one of the world's best and only the elite were accepted to study there.

When your parents arrived in the U.S., your dad pursued MBA degree at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to prepare himself in Investment Banking. After graduation your family moved to New York City and he started to work for JP Morgan, one of the most prominent corporations in the business world.

I remember the first time our two families met in NJ. During the visit we drove to a small but popular park in Holmdel about 3 miles from our Middletown house. While Edmund kept busy in the play ground, your dad and I sat in the picnic/fishing area so we could get to know each other.

He wore a dark colored sweat shirt that day, appropriately showing off who he was and where he came from...MBA; University of Michigan! Our conversation was casual and, within two minutes we found something in common; he had friends working for Automatic Data Processing (ADP) where I retired from. To me, your dad was a very handsome gentleman and scholar.

The second time the two families met, your parents were driving all of you to Philadelphia. Years later we took your grand uncle Jian-Hua and his wife Xin-Ping there too. On request of your maternal grandfather, Prof. Xu, we toured University of Pennsylvania campus for photographs because the professor did not see the campus during his earlier visit.

I remember meeting you twice too, Edmund. You came from New York City on that day with your mom and grandma by train and we picked you up at the Middletown station. It was the first time in decades  to hold a little Chinese boy close to me, so you can imagine the excitement!

A little while into the second visit, Edmund said, 'I remember you now; I was here before!.' I became so thrilled I had this urge to hold him up. We heard about the arrival of your brother  Sebastian; and are ready now for a face-to-face meeting with him anytime. The chance may be slim but, we will keep our faith.

I remembered a 50-year old TV commercial entitled, 'Nobody Doesn't Like Sara Lee'. Many versions were made and can still be browsed on the Internet today.

Needless to say I was very, very impressed by everything your father was and accomplished; so much so I want to modify the commercial to add 'Nobody Doesn't Like Sen Lin Either!'
